Last year I remember seeing something going around Twitter called Writer in Motion. I was in the middle of studying for the PE and trying to pin down a new WIP so I decided to sit it out and watch it unfold. Fast forward a year later and I saw Writer In Motion being promoted on Twitter (again) and decided it was finally time to try it out.
If you haven’t heard about Writer in Motion, I highly suggest going to their site and learning more. The basics is that it’s a program for writers to document the struggles of the writing process. Writer In Motion will release a prompt picture, and beginning in November writers are tasked with writing a 1,000 word story around the prompt documenting their progress from the very beginning to the final result. Those lucky few (such as myself) who are able to sign up and receive feedback from the Writer in Motion editors and critique partners. Even those who don’t get a slot, can still participate, just without guaranteed feedback from the Writer in Motion editors.
And that’s it. This page will chronicle my Writer in Motion journey starting with the reveal of this round’s prompt picture tomorrow, August 1, 2020.
